With profound sadness, we remember 24-year-old Ava Manley of Denton and 31-year-old Collin Farley of Arlington, whose lives were tragically lost following a shooting in Denton, Texas, on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Denton Police Department, officers and firefighters responded at approximately 2:35 p.m. to the 1900 block of N. Bell Avenue after receiving reports of a shooting. First responders arrived and found a man and woman outside a residence. Both were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified the deceased as Ava Manley and Collin Farley. Authorities said the preliminary investigation indicates that Farley fatally shot Manley before taking his own life. Detectives also confirmed that Ava and Collin had previously been in a dating relationship.
Ava was just 24 years old, with many years of life still ahead of her. Her sudden passing has left a heartbreaking void for her family, friends, and everyone who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for the moments she shared with those around her and for the place she held in their lives.
Collin, 31, also leaves behind family, friends, and loved ones who are now mourning his death. While the circumstances surrounding the tragedy are heartbreaking, his life was more than the events that led to his death. He was a person with memories, relationships, experiences, and people who cared about him.
For everyone affected, the days ahead may bring profound grief and difficult questions. Sudden loss can be incredibly painful, but cherished memories can provide comfort during the darkest moments.
As the investigation continues, authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Pizana at 940-349-7922.
May Ava and Collin be remembered as people whose lives mattered to those who knew them. May their families find strength, peace, and comfort as they navigate this devastating loss.
May they both rest peacefully. Forever remembered, forever loved, and forever missed.
