JAMESTOWN, N.D. — Joshua White, 45, of Jamestown, tragically passed away Thursday evening, Aug. 13, following a devastating crash on Interstate 94. The collision involved White’s SUV and a semi-truck driven by Melissa Martinez, 40, of Grand Forks, who was not injured.
The crash occurred around 6:56 p.m. near mile marker 250, approximately six miles west of Jamestown. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, White was traveling eastbound in a 2003 Ford Expedition when his vehicle left the roadway and crossed the median.
The SUV entered the westbound lanes and collided with a 2017 Freightliner pulling a dump trailer. After the impact, White’s Expedition came to rest in the median and became engulfed in flames.
Emergency crews responded quickly to the scene, and White was transported by ambulance to Jamestown Regional Medical Center for treatment. Despite medical efforts, he later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Authorities reported that White was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. Martinez was wearing her seatbelt and escaped the crash without injury.
Joshua’s sudden passing has left family, friends, and loved ones facing an unimaginable loss. At 45 years old, his life was filled with memories, relationships, and moments that will now be held especially close by those who knew him.
