According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded at approximately 3:37 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026, to a residence in the 16600 block of Ramada Drive after Matthew was found unresponsive inside. Emergency medical personnel responded to the home, but Matthew was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Department’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail responded and assumed responsibility for the investigation. Authorities have said the investigation remains ongoing, and the suspect in Matthew’s killing remains at large. Officials have not yet released a suspect description or detailed information about what led to his death.
