COFFEE COUNTY, Ala. — August 15, 2026 — The Brundidge community is mourning the tragic loss of Joshua P. Roberts, 41, who died early Saturday morning following an ATV crash in Coffee County.
According to Alabama state troopers, Roberts was operating a 2013 Yamaha Grizzly 700 ATV when the crash occurred at approximately 1:45 a.m. on Coffee County Road 111 near Coffee County Road 100.
Authorities said the ATV struck a deer while Roberts was traveling along the roadway. The collision caused him to be thrown from the ATV. Tragically, Roberts suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred approximately 15 miles north of Enterprise, turning what may have begun as an ordinary journey into a heartbreaking tragedy.
Roberts’ sudden passing has left family members, friends, and loved ones grieving a life taken far too soon. Losing someone unexpectedly can leave an immeasurable void, and the memories shared with Joshua will undoubtedly remain close to the hearts of those who knew him.
His death is also a solemn reminder of the dangers that can arise unexpectedly on roadways, particularly during nighttime hours when animals such as deer can suddenly enter a travel path.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Highway Patrol Division is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Officials have not indicated that any additional details are available at this time.
