DENTON, Texas — With profound sadness, we remember 31-year-old Collin Farley of Arlington and the unidentified female victim whose lives were tragically lost following a shooting Sunday afternoon in Denton. While Farley has been identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office, the woman’s identity remains pending positive forensic identification as authorities continue their investigation.

According to the Denton Police Department, officers and firefighters responded to the 1900 block of N. Bell Avenue at approximately 2:35 p.m. Sunday after receiving reports of a shooting.

When first responders arrived, they found a man and woman outside a residence. Both were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Based on witness interviews and additional evidence gathered during the preliminary investigation, authorities believe Farley fatally shot the woman before shooting himself.

Detectives have confirmed that the female victim and Farley had previously been in a relationship.

For the families and loved ones affected, these details represent far more than a police investigation. They represent the sudden loss of two people whose lives were connected to families, friends and others who cared about them.

The woman, whose name has not yet been publicly released, deserves to be remembered as more than a victim in a tragic case. She was a person with her own life, memories, relationships and people who loved her deeply.

Her next of kin has been notified, and her loved ones are now facing an unimaginable loss. As authorities work to complete the identification process, her family deserves privacy, compassion and support during this painful time.

We also remember Collin Farley, who was 31 years old and from Arlington. His passing has added another layer of grief to an already devastating tragedy. Those who knew him are now left to mourn his death and process the circumstances surrounding what happened.

Behind every name is a human life.

There were memories, conversations, friendships, family moments and experiences that existed long before the tragedy of Sunday afternoon. Those memories are now what many loved ones will hold onto.

A sudden loss can make even the smallest memories feel precious. A photograph, a familiar place, a song, a conversation or an ordinary moment can suddenly bring back the presence of someone who is no longer here.

There may be birthdays and holidays that feel different. There may be empty seats at family gatherings and conversations that loved ones wish they could have one more time.

Grief is not easy, and there is no single way to process such a devastating loss. Some days may bring sadness and disbelief, while others may bring moments of comfort through cherished memories.

As the Denton Police Department continues investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, the families affected are left to begin the difficult journey of mourning.

Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to contact Detective Pizana at 940-349-7922.

During this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with the families, friends and loved ones of both individuals.

May they find strength in one another, comfort in the memories they shared and support from those around them.

When the identity of the female victim is officially confirmed, may her name be remembered with dignity, compassion and respect.

Two lives were lost, and many people are now left grieving.

May their memories continue to live on through the people who knew and loved them. May their families find peace and strength in the difficult days ahead.

Forever remembered.
Forever loved.
Forever missed.
