ELLIOTT, ILLINOIS — The loss of Tanya M. Collier, 38, of Romeoville, has left family, friends, and loved ones facing an unimaginable heartbreak following a tragic collision involving a car and a school bus near Elliott in Ford County.
Tanya’s life came to an unexpected and devastating end, leaving behind memories that those who loved her will now hold onto for the rest of their lives.
At only 38 years old, Tanya still had so much life ahead of her. There were undoubtedly more birthdays to celebrate, more family gatherings to attend, more laughter to share, more places to visit, and countless memories that should have been made.
Instead, the people who loved her are now left with an emptiness that words cannot fill.
According to Ford County Coroner Brandon Roderick, Tanya was the driver of a car involved in a collision with a school bus. She died as a result of the crash, while three other occupants of the car were injured.
The school bus was carrying 20 students from the Hoopeston Middle School softball team. All of the students were transported following the collision, and there appeared to be no serious injuries reported among them.
While that news brings some relief amid the tragedy, Tanya’s family is left facing the devastating reality that she will not be coming home.
