With profound sadness, we remember Nicole Karastury Elliott, 35, whose life was tragically cut short on August 17, 2026, following a fatal shooting in Waverly Hall, Georgia.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, authorities received a report at approximately 12:37 p.m. of an unresponsive woman in the front yard of a residence located at 9306 Georgia Highway 208. When responding deputies arrived, they discovered Nicole deceased in the yard. Investigators determined that she appeared to have suffered a single gunshot wound.
The discovery began a heartbreaking investigation into the circumstances surrounding Nicole’s death. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division took part in the follow-up investigation, while the Georgia Bureau of Investigation assisted with processing the crime scene.
Investigators determined that earlier that morning, at approximately 10:04 a.m., Nicole had reportedly been involved in a domestic dispute with 36-year-old Andrew Roy Harris of Phenix City, Alabama. Authorities said that during the dispute, Nicole was fatally shot.
Harris subsequently fled the scene and remains wanted by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office in connection with the case. Authorities have charged him with Felony Murder and Aggravated Assault. Investigators said he was last seen on foot in Phenix City after fleeing the America’s Best Value Inn near the U.S. Highway 280 bypass.
Authorities are urging members of the public not to approach Harris if they see him. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to immediately contact law enforcement or call 911. Investigators consider him armed and dangerous.
As the investigation continues, Nicole’s family and loved ones are left to face a devastating loss. Her death represents not only the loss of a 35-year-old woman, but the loss of someone who was deeply loved and whose presence mattered to the people around her.
The circumstances of her death have also brought renewed attention to the devastating consequences of domestic violence. Behind every domestic violence tragedy are families, friends, and communities left to cope with pain that can last a lifetime.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office expressed its deepest sympathy to Nicole’s family and loved ones, asking the community to keep them in their thoughts and prayers as they navigate this heartbreaking time.
Nicole’s life should have continued with many more memories still waiting to be made. Instead, her loved ones are now forced to remember her while trying to make sense of an unimaginable tragedy.
May those who knew Nicole find comfort in the memories she gave them, in the moments they shared, and in the love that will continue to remain even after her passing.
May her family be surrounded by compassion and strength in the days ahead. May they find comfort in one another as they mourn a life taken far too soon.
Rest peacefully, Nicole Karastury Elliott.
Your life mattered. Your memory matters. And although you were taken from this world far too soon, the memories of you will continue to live in the hearts of those who loved you.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever remembered. Never forgotten.
