The Baltimore County community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 34-year-old Francesa Lloyd, who died following a tragic early-morning crash on northbound Interstate 95.
The collision happened shortly before 3:00 a.m. Friday when Maryland State Police responded to a report of a crash involving a tractor-trailer and a Subaru Outback. Investigators said the tractor-trailer had suffered a flat tire and was attempting to move onto the highway shoulder when the Subaru struck the rear of the truck.
Francesa, who was traveling as a passenger in the Subaru, was seriously injured in the collision. She was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, but sadly, her injuries proved fatal, and she later passed away.
The driver of the Subaru, 41-year-old George Lloyd, was also taken to a hospital for medical care. Authorities believe Francesa and George were married. His current condition has not been released.
As the investigation continues, Maryland State Police have indicated that impairment may have played a role in the crash. Investigators are working to determine the full circumstances surrounding the collision, and any potential charges will depend on the outcome of the investigation.
