ROANOKE, Va. — With profound sadness, we remember 24-year-old Joshua Moore, a young life tragically taken far too soon following a motorcycle crash in Roanoke on Friday evening, August 7.
Joshua’s life came to a heartbreaking end after a collision involving a motorcycle and a sport-utility vehicle at the intersection of 11th Street NE and eastbound Orange Avenue. What began as an ordinary evening quickly became a devastating moment that forever changed the lives of Joshua’s family, friends, and everyone who knew and loved him.
According to the Roanoke Police Department, officers responded to the crash at approximately 8:50 p.m. after receiving reports of a serious motor vehicle collision. When first responders arrived at the scene, they found Joshua had been thrown from his motorcycle during the crash.
Roanoke Fire-EMS personnel immediately began providing medical treatment, doing everything they could to help Joshua. He was transported to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for further medical care. Despite the efforts of first responders and medical professionals, Joshua later succumbed to the injuries he suffered in the crash.
At just 24 years old, Joshua had so much life still ahead of him. Dreams yet to be fulfilled, memories yet to be made, places yet to be seen, and moments that should have been shared with the people closest to him. His passing leaves behind a pain that words can never fully describe.
A young life has been silenced, but the memories Joshua created will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
