With heavy hearts, we remember Shawn Meader, 45, of Waterville, Maine, whose life was tragically cut short after an apparent drowning in Ossipee Lake in Freedom, New Hampshire, on Saturday, August 8, 2026.

Shawn entered the lake to swim during the early morning hours but was believed to have gone underwater and could not be located. Despite the efforts of first responders and the Center Ossipee Dive Rescue Team, Shawn was recovered from the water and sadly could not be saved.

His passing has left family, friends, and loved ones facing a heartbreaking loss. A life that held memories, dreams, relationships, and countless moments was suddenly taken away.

Shawn was more than a name in a news report. He was a person who mattered, someone who was loved, and someone whose presence will be deeply missed by those who knew him.

May his loved ones find strength in the memories they shared with him and comfort in knowing that his life will never be forgotten.

Rest peacefully, Shawn.

Your life mattered.
Your memory will live on.
You will forever be loved, missed, and remembered.

Forever in our hearts.
