In Loving Memory of Daniel Dmitry Krauze

With profound sadness, we remember Daniel Dmitry Krauze, a 22-year-old man from Anderson, South Carolina, whose life was tragically cut short Saturday night following a devastating vehicle crash on Sugar Creek Lane.

Daniel’s death has left behind heartbreak for his family, friends, and everyone who knew and cared about him. At just 22 years old, he had so much life still ahead of him, making the sudden loss of his life especially difficult to comprehend.

According to the Anderson County Coroner’s Office, Anderson County 911 received a report of the crash shortly after 9:30 p.m. Saturday. The incident occurred on Sugar Creek Lane after a vehicle left the roadway, traveled through a residential yard and ultimately crashed into a nearby home.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene after receiving reports that multiple people were injured. When they arrived, they discovered several individuals who required medical attention. Tragically, one person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was identified as Daniel Dmitry Krauze, 22, of Anderson.

According to Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore, preliminary information indicates that Daniel was riding as an unrestrained passenger in an Audi when the vehicle left the roadway. The Audi reportedly traveled through a yard before striking a nearby house.

Daniel suffered multiple traumatic injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Anderson County Coroner’s Office has ruled Daniel’s death accidental.

Two other people involved in the crash were transported to Prisma Health Trauma Center in Greenville for medical treatment. At the time of the initial report, authorities had not released information about their conditions or the full extent of their injuries.

While investigators work to understand exactly what happened, Daniel’s loved ones are left facing the painful reality of losing someone so young.

A vehicle crash may be described through facts, locations, times and official reports, but behind every tragic incident is a human life and a family whose world can change in an instant.

Daniel was more than the passenger named in a crash report. He was a young man with family, friends, relationships, memories and a future that was suddenly taken away.

At only 22 years old, there should have been many more years ahead of him—more birthdays, more family gatherings, more friendships, more opportunities and countless ordinary moments that could have become treasured memories.

Instead, those who loved Daniel are now left holding onto the memories they shared with him.

The photographs, conversations, laughter and moments spent together will become even more precious with time. Though nothing can replace Daniel, those memories can help keep his presence alive in the hearts of those who knew him.

The circumstances that caused the Audi to leave the roadway remain under investigation. The Anderson County Office of the Coroner and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are continuing to investigate the fatal crash.

Authorities have not released additional information regarding the vehicle’s speed, whether impairment played any role, or the identities of the other people involved. Investigators are expected to continue working to reconstruct the events leading up to the crash and determine what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.

For Daniel’s family, however, the investigation is only one part of an incredibly painful moment. Their focus is now on grieving, remembering and trying to move forward without someone who should have had so much more time.

We extend our deepest condolences to Daniel’s family, friends and loved ones during this heartbreaking time.

May they find comfort in the memories they shared with him and strength in one another as they navigate the difficult days ahead.

Daniel’s life may have ended far too soon, but his memory will continue through the people who loved him and the moments they shared.

Rest in peace, Daniel Dmitry Krauze.

Your life was far too short, but you will forever be remembered by those whose lives you touched.

Gone too soon. Forever remembered. Forever missed.

Please keep Daniel’s family, friends and all those affected by this tragedy in your thoughts and prayers.

In Loving Memory of Brett M. Whitley

With profound sadness, we remember Brett M. Whitley, a 28-year-old man from Maylene, Alabama, whose life was tragically cut short on Sunday morning, August 9, 2026, following a devastating single-vehicle crash in Bibb County.

Brett’s passing has left behind a heartbreaking sense of loss for his family, friends, and everyone who knew and cared about him. At only 28 years old, Brett had so much life still ahead of him, with countless possibilities, dreams, memories and moments that should have been waiting for him.

The suddenness of his death makes this loss especially difficult to comprehend. One moment, a family has a loved one with them, and the next, they are forced to face the painful reality that he will not be coming home.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the crash occurred at approximately 10 a.m. Sunday on Bibb County Road 24, about two miles east of West Blocton in Bibb County.

Authorities reported that Brett was driving a 2010 Toyota Tundra when the vehicle left the roadway, struck several trees and overturned. Brett was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

While those details help explain what happened, an accident report can never truly tell the story of the person behind the name.

Brett was more than a victim of a tragic crash. He was a son, a family member, a friend and a person whose life mattered deeply to those who knew him.

For the people closest to Brett, his absence will be felt in countless ways. There will be familiar places that remind them of him, photographs that bring back memories, stories that will be told again and again, and quiet moments when the reality of his absence becomes especially painful.

Losing someone at such a young age is a reminder of how fragile life can be. Twenty-eight years is far too short, and Brett’s loved ones are now left grieving not only the life he lived but also the many years they had hoped to share with him.

There were undoubtedly more memories to make, more birthdays to celebrate, more conversations to have, more family gatherings to attend and more ordinary moments that would have become cherished memories over time.

Now, those who loved Brett must carry his memory forward.

The photographs and stories left behind will become treasured reminders of his life. Every memory shared by someone who knew him is another piece of his story that will continue to live on.

For his family, the days ahead may be incredibly difficult. Grief does not follow a schedule, and the pain of losing someone so unexpectedly can take time to process. We hope they are surrounded by people who will offer comfort, patience, love and support as they navigate this heartbreaking loss.

To Brett’s friends, we hope you remember the moments that made you smile, the conversations you shared, the experiences you had together and the memories that made his friendship meaningful.

And to everyone who knew Brett, may you continue to speak his name and remember the person he was rather than allowing the circumstances of his passing to define his life.

His life was more than the tragic accident that took him from this world.

Brett M. Whitley was loved. Brett mattered. Brett will be remembered.

Although his time on earth ended far too soon, the impact he had on the people around him will remain. The love his family and friends have for him does not end with his passing.

As the Maylene community mourns, we extend our deepest thoughts and prayers to Brett’s family, friends and everyone grieving this heartbreaking loss.

May they find strength in one another. May they find comfort in the memories they shared with Brett. And may they find peace in knowing that his life touched people who will never forget him.

🕊️ Rest peacefully, Brett M. Whitley.

You were taken from this world far too soon, but your memory will continue to live in the hearts of those who loved you.

    May you never be forgotten.

Gone too soon. Forever remembered. Forever missed.

Please keep Brett’s family, friends and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Today, we remember Preston Conner with love and sadness.

We pray that his family finds strength during this incredibly difficult time. We pray for his brother Jorden, his aunt Christy, his friends, and everyone whose life was touched by Preston.

We especially keep his young friends in our thoughts and prayers as they face the painful loss of someone they cared about.

In Loving Memory of Zackery McCormick

With profound sadness, we remember 33-year-old Zackery McCormick of Gray Court, South Carolina, whose life was tragically cut short following a motorcycle crash Saturday night in Honea Path.

Zackery’s passing has left behind a deep and painful void for his family, friends, loved ones, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. At just 33 years old, he had so much more life ahead of him, more memories to make, more moments to share, and more chapters that were never given the chance to be written.

The fatal crash happened shortly before 10:30 p.m. Saturday on U.S. Highway 178 in Honea Path, according to the Abbeville County Coroner’s Office. Zackery was riding a 2007 Yamaha Sport motorcycle westbound on U.S. Highway 178 near Rock Springs School Road when the motorcycle left the roadway.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the motorcycle traveled off the left side of the road, striking a utility pole before continuing into a fence. The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the crash.

Despite the efforts of those who responded, Zackery was pronounced dead at the scene. His sudden death is a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly life can change and how precious every moment with the people we love truly is.

Emergency crews and law enforcement responded to the scene, including Abbeville County EMS, Abbeville County Fire, the Abbeville County Sheriff’s Office, and the South Carolina Highway Patrol. Their response reflects the difficult work carried out in the aftermath of a tragedy like this, as first responders worked at the scene while a family’s world was forever changed.

For those who knew Zackery, his life will not be remembered simply by the circumstances of his passing. He will be remembered for the person he was, the moments he shared, the conversations, laughter, memories, and the impact he made on the lives around him.

Losing someone unexpectedly is a pain that words can rarely describe. There is no preparation for receiving the news that someone you love will never walk through the door again, never make another phone call, never share another laugh, and never create another memory.

Today, the people who loved Zackery are left holding onto the memories he gave them. Those memories may bring tears now, but in time, they can also become a source of comfort—a reminder that his life mattered and that he will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

A life of 33 years may feel far too short, but the love Zackery shared and the memories he created cannot be measured simply by the number of years he was here. Every person leaves something behind in the lives they touch, and Zackery’s memory will remain with his family and friends long after this heartbreaking night.

As they face the difficult days ahead, may his loved ones find strength in one another and comfort in the memories they shared with him. May they be surrounded by compassion, support, and the love of those who stand beside them during this unimaginable time.

There will be moments when his absence feels overwhelming—birthdays, holidays, family gatherings, ordinary days, and quiet moments when memories unexpectedly return. In those moments, may they remember not only the tragedy of his final moments, but the life he lived before them: the smiles, the laughter, the relationships, and the memories that made Zackery who he was.

    May Zackery McCormick rest peacefully.

May his family and friends find comfort in knowing that he was loved, that his life mattered, and that his memory will never be forgotten.

Gone far too soon at 33.
    Forever remembered.
    Forever missed.
    Forever loved.
