In Loving Memory of David M. Boucher, 70

BOOTHBAY, Maine — With heavy hearts, the community is mourning the loss of David M. Boucher, 70, of Edgecomb, who died Saturday following a single-vehicle crash on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, the crash was reported shortly before 1:55 p.m. Saturday. Investigators believe a medical event may have been the primary cause of the collision, though that determination remains pending a final review by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Authorities said Boucher was traveling south on Wiscasset Road in a white 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 when the pickup crossed the center line and entered the northbound lane. The truck then continued into a driveway, where it struck two parked vehicles that were unoccupied before eventually coming to rest against a shed.

Boucher was the only person inside the truck at the time of the crash.

Emergency medical personnel from the Boothbay Region Ambulance Service responded to the scene and made efforts to resuscitate Boucher. Despite those efforts, he could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said that neither speed nor alcohol is believed to have contributed to the crash. Authorities also reported that Boucher was not wearing a seatbelt and that the vehicle’s airbags did not deploy.

While the circumstances surrounding the collision are still being reviewed, investigators suspect that a medical event may have occurred before the crash. Officials emphasized that the suspected medical cause remains subject to final determination by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

For Boucher’s family and friends, however, the investigation is only one part of a much deeper and more painful story—the sudden loss of someone they knew, loved and cared about.

David was 70 years old, an age that represents decades of experiences, relationships, memories and moments shared with the people around him. His passing leaves behind a void that cannot easily be filled.

A sudden death can be particularly difficult for loved ones because there is often little opportunity to prepare for the goodbye. One moment can seem completely ordinary, and the next, a family is faced with news that changes everything.

As the Boothbay and Edgecomb communities learn of Boucher’s passing, those who knew him may find themselves remembering the moments that made him special. It may be the conversations, the laughter, the kindness he showed others, or simply the everyday memories that now carry greater meaning.

Although the crash brought a tragic end to his life, it does not erase the years he lived or the memories he created.

David’s family will now face the difficult days ahead without his presence. Birthdays, holidays, family gatherings and ordinary days may all feel different as they adjust to his absence. Grief has no simple timeline, and the pain of losing someone can remain long after the initial shock has passed.

During this difficult time, thoughts and prayers are with David M. Boucher’s family, friends and everyone who knew and loved him.

May they find comfort in the memories they shared with him and strength in the love that surrounds them. May they be given peace as they navigate the difficult journey of grief.

Authorities continue to review the circumstances of the crash, and anyone who witnessed the incident is being asked to contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 207-882-7332.

But beyond the investigation and the circumstances of the crash, David will be remembered first and foremost as a person whose life mattered.

His time on earth has come to an end, but the memories he left behind will remain with those who loved him.

Rest in peace, David M. Boucher. May you be remembered with love, honored through the memories you left behind, and forever held in the hearts of those who knew you.

Forever Remembered: Ja’Nyah Everett Dies in Devastating Crash

STATESBORO, Georgia — The Statesboro community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 23-year-old Ja’Nyah Everett, who died Sunday evening following a devastating single-vehicle crash in Bulloch County that also left two children injured.

Ja’Nyah Everett, a 23-year-old woman from Statesboro, was pronounced dead at the scene after the vehicle she was driving overturned on Old River Road South. The tragic crash occurred during the evening hours of Sunday, August 9, leaving behind a family and loved ones facing an unimaginable loss.

According to authorities, Bulloch County 911 received the emergency call at approximately 7:12 p.m. after the crash was reported near the intersection of Old River Road South and Old Flat Ford Road. Emergency personnel immediately responded to the scene, including Bulloch County EMS, Bulloch County Fire, the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia State Patrol.

When responders arrived, they discovered that the vehicle had overturned after leaving the roadway. The driver, identified as Ja’Nyah Everett, was found at the scene and was pronounced deceased.

Authorities notified Everett’s next of kin later that night.

Preliminary information from Georgia State Patrol Post 45 indicates that Everett was driving a Honda Accord northbound on Old River Road South near Fonnie Knight Road when she entered a curve at a speed investigators believe was too fast for the vehicle to safely negotiate.

The Accord subsequently slid off the roadway and overturned.

The crash became even more heartbreaking because two juveniles were inside the vehicle and were ejected during the collision. Both children survived the crash but suffered injuries and were transported by Bulloch County EMS to Memorial Medical Center in Savannah for medical treatment.

Investigators reported that Everett was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Authorities also reported that the two children were not properly restrained in approved child safety seats.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation, and officials have not publicly confirmed whether Everett was the mother or another relative of the two children.

For those who knew Ja’Nyah, her sudden passing represents far more than the details contained in a crash investigation. Behind the police report was a young woman whose life, relationships, memories and future were abruptly taken away.

At just 23 years old, Ja’Nyah had so much life ahead of her. Her passing is a painful reminder of how quickly circumstances on the road can change and how one moment can leave families facing a lifetime of grief.

The aftermath of a sudden death can be overwhelming. Loved ones are often left trying to understand how someone they expected to see again can suddenly be gone. The questions, memories and emotions can remain long after the emergency lights have disappeared from the roadway.

While the investigation will focus on determining exactly what happened during those final moments, Ja’Nyah’s family and friends will remember her for the life she lived and the memories she created with those around her.

The children involved in the crash are also now facing a difficult recovery. Their injuries add another heartbreaking chapter to an already devastating incident. The hope is that they will receive the medical care and support they need as they recover from the physical and emotional impact of the crash.

Following the collision, Old River Road South was temporarily closed in the area while Georgia State Patrol troopers investigated the scene, documented evidence and worked to determine the circumstances that led to the deadly overturning crash. The roadway was reopened at approximately 9 p.m.

The investigation is being handled by Georgia State Patrol Post 45, with TFC Daniel Gay leading the investigation.

As investigators continue their work, Ja’Nyah’s loved ones are left to face the most difficult part of all — saying goodbye to someone whose life ended far too soon.

There are no perfect words for the loss of a young life. Twenty-three years is far too short, and the suddenness of this tragedy makes the grief even more difficult to bear. In the days ahead, family and friends may find themselves holding tightly to photographs, conversations, memories and the moments they shared with Ja’Nyah.

Those memories can become a source of comfort during an incredibly painful time.

May those who loved Ja’Nyah find strength in one another. May they be surrounded by people who care for them and support them through the days ahead. And may the memory of Ja’Nyah Everett continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

May Ja’Nyah Everett rest in eternal peace. May her life be remembered with love, and may she never be forgotten.

Our deepest condolences go out to Ja’Nyah’s family, friends and loved ones during this heartbreaking time. We also extend our thoughts to the two children who were injured and hope for their full recovery.

Damion’s death has brought sorrow to those who knew him and those who are now mourning his unexpected passing. At just 35 years old, his life ended suddenly, leaving behind memories and loved ones who must now face the difficult reality of his absence.

According to the North Dakota State Patrol, the incident began shortly after midnight when authorities attempted to stop a man they knew was driving with a suspended license. The attempted traffic stop took place in the 700 block of Broadway North in Fargo.

Authorities said the driver did not stop and fled from officers. The North Dakota State Patrol reported that officers did not pursue the vehicle.

A Fargo police officer later located the vehicle after it had crashed in the 1500 block of Dakota Drive.

Investigators said the vehicle struck a tree and then continued traveling between two apartment buildings before coming to a stop. The driver sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash victim was later identified as Damion Proffit, 35, of Fargo.

The collision also caused debris from the wrecked vehicle to strike an unoccupied car, resulting in extensive damage. Fortunately, no one was inside that vehicle at the time, and authorities reported that no one other than the driver was injured.

Although investigators will continue examining the circumstances surrounding the crash, for Damion’s loved ones, the most important part of this tragedy is the person they have lost.

Damion was more than a name in a crash report. He was a human being with a life, memories, relationships and people who knew him and cared about him.

His death serves as another painful reminder of how quickly life can change. A single moment can leave families facing a future they never expected and wishing they had more time with someone they loved.

At 35, Damion still had many years that should have been ahead of him. There could have been more birthdays, more conversations, more family moments, more friendships and countless opportunities to create new memories.

Instead, his loved ones are now left with the memories he gave them.

Those memories may bring tears today, but with time, they can also become a source of comfort. The photographs, stories and moments shared with Damion will remain reminders that his life mattered and that he will not simply be forgotten.
