Austin McCulloch, 28, of Beaverton, Michigan, tragically lost his life Monday afternoon following an ATV crash in Beaverton Township, leaving family, friends, and the community mourning a life taken far too soon.
The Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded at approximately 4:25 p.m. on August 17, 2026, to a reported personal injury accident involving an ATV on McCulloch Road, south of Calhoun Road.
According to the preliminary investigation, Austin was operating a 2023 Can-Am Outlander 4×4 quad-runner and traveling northbound on McCulloch Road when he lost control of the ATV. The crash resulted in fatal injuries, and Austin sadly did not survive.
Authorities currently believe that no other vehicle was involved in the incident. However, the investigation remains underway, and officials have emphasized that the exact circumstances and cause of the crash have not yet been determined.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by Beaverton Fire & Rescue and medical professionals from MyMichigan Ambulance Service, who responded following the devastating accident.
