JESSUP, PENNSYLVANIA — In loving memory of Anthony “Tony” Bruno and his daughter Samantha, whose lives were tragically lost in a devastating incident at their home on Lane Street in Jessup. Their deaths have left family, friends, neighbors, and members of the close-knit community grieving and searching for answers.

Jessup Borough Police were dispatched to the home around 11 a.m. Monday for a welfare check. When officers arrived, they found the residence secured from the inside. Officers entered the home and discovered Tony and Samantha deceased on the second floor.

Authorities are investigating the deaths as a murder-suicide, although the exact circumstances surrounding what happened inside the home remain under investigation. Police have not released additional details about the events leading up to the deaths.

For neighbors who knew the family, the tragedy has been especially difficult to understand.

Aalexis Misiura, who has lived on Lane Street for 14 years, was working from home when she noticed Jessup police officers outside. Shortly afterward, Pennsylvania State Police arrived, making it clear that something serious had occurred.

Misiura described the police activity as highly unusual for the neighborhood and offered her prayers to the family. She said Jessup is a close community where incidents of this nature are uncommon, making the tragedy particularly alarming for residents.

Nick Kutchmanich, who grew up next door to the Bruno family, said he had known Tony for approximately 15 years. After Kutchmanich moved away, his brother remained a neighbor of Tony until his brother passed away four years ago.

Kutchmanich remembered Tony as a hardworking mechanic who ran his own business and, most importantly, as a good family man and an honest person.

“He was a good family man; he was an honest man,” Kutchmanich said, adding that he had never known Tony to have an enemy.

Those who knew Tony and Samantha are now left with memories of the lives they shared and the moments that can never be replaced.

Their deaths have brought sadness to a neighborhood where residents know one another and look out for each other. As investigators continue working to determine exactly what happened, the community is mourning two lives lost in a heartbreaking tragedy.

Jessup police have emphasized that the incident is believed to be isolated and that there is no danger to the public.

May Anthony “Tony” Bruno and Samantha rest in peace.

May their family, friends, and loved ones find strength and comfort during this difficult time.

Gone too soon, but never forgotten.
