With profound sadness, we remember Nacole Bartolet, 20, of Whitehouse, Ohio, whose life was tragically cut short Sunday afternoon, August 17, following a two-vehicle crash in Ballville Township. Her passing has left family, friends, and loved ones facing an unimaginable loss as they mourn a young life that ended far too soon.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred at approximately 3:32 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Route 6 and State Route 53. The collision involved a 2004 Saturn Ion and a 2019 GMC Sierra and resulted in Nacole’s death, while three other people were injured.
The Highway Patrol’s preliminary investigation determined that a 2004 Saturn Ion, driven by 23-year-old Dylon Sinley of Seville, was traveling northbound on State Route 53. As Sinley attempted to turn left, investigators said he failed to yield. The Saturn was then struck by a southbound 2019 GMC Sierra driven by 59-year-old Angela Ebbing of Troy.
Nacole was a passenger in the Saturn at the time of the collision. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, she was pronounced dead at the scene. At just 20 years old, her life held so much promise, and her sudden passing is a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly circumstances can change.
Two other people traveling in the Saturn were seriously injured. Sinley and 22-year-old Leia McIntire of Wooster were transported by ground ambulance to Mercy Health — St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo for treatment.
The crash also left a passenger in the GMC Sierra injured. 64-year-old Michael Ebbing of Troy was transported to ProMedica Memorial Hospital in Fremont with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Behind the details of the crash is a grieving family now forced to say goodbye to Nacole. A young woman who should have had many more years ahead of her is instead being remembered through the lives she touched, the memories she created, and the moments she shared with those who cared about her.
In times of sudden loss, there are often no words capable of fully expressing the pain felt by those left behind. Nacole’s loved ones must now navigate the difficult days ahead while holding close the memories of her life and the person she was.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office, Sandusky County EMS, Ballville Township Fire Department, Sandusky County Coroner’s Office, and Madison Motors. Their response reflects the efforts made to provide assistance and care following the devastating collision.
The crash remains under investigation by the Fremont Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and additional information may be released as investigators continue working to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
As the community remembers Nacole Bartolet, may her memory remain a source of comfort to everyone who knew and loved her. Though her life was far too short, the memories she leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
Rest peacefully, Nacole Bartolet. Your life mattered, your memory will endure, and you will never be forgotten. May your family and loved ones find strength, comfort, and peace during this heartbreaking time.
