It is with deep sorrow that we remember Nacole Bartolet, 20, of Whitehouse, Ohio, whose life was tragically taken in a two-vehicle collision Monday afternoon, August 17, 2026, in Ballville Township. Her unexpected passing has brought immense grief to her family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred at approximately 3:32 p.m. Monday at the intersection of U.S. Route 6 and State Route 53. Nacole was traveling as a passenger in a 2004 Saturn Ion when the vehicle became involved in a collision with a 2019 GMC Sierra.
According to the preliminary investigation, the Saturn was being driven northbound on State Route 53 by Dylon Sinley, 23, of Seville. Investigators said Sinley was attempting to turn left when he failed to yield. The Saturn was subsequently struck by the southbound GMC Sierra, driven by Angela Ebbing, 59, of Troy.
Nacole was one of the passengers inside the Saturn. Tragically, she suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. At only 20 years old, she had so much life ahead of her, making her sudden passing an especially painful loss for those who loved her.
Two other occupants of the Saturn were seriously injured in the crash. Sinley and Leia McIntire, 22, of Wooster, were transported by ground ambulance to Mercy Health — St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo for treatment.
The collision also injured a passenger in the GMC Sierra. Michael Ebbing, 64, of Troy, was taken to ProMedica Memorial Hospital in Fremont with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
While investigators continue working to establish the full circumstances of the crash, Nacole’s family and loved ones are left to face the heartbreaking reality of her absence. Losing someone so young and unexpectedly can leave a pain that words cannot adequately describe.
Nacole’s life was more than the circumstances of the accident. She was a beloved family member and friend whose presence brought meaning to the lives of those around her. The memories she created and the moments she shared with others will remain with her loved ones long after this tragic day.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene, with assistance from the Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office, Sandusky County EMS, Ballville Township Fire Department, Sandusky County Coroner’s Office, and Madison Motors.
The fatal collision remains under investigation by the Fremont Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash as the investigation moves forward.
For Nacole’s loved ones, the days ahead will undoubtedly be filled with sadness, memories, and difficult moments. Yet through that grief, they can hold onto the time they were blessed to share with her and the memories that can never be taken away.
May Nacole’s memory continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her. May her family and friends find strength, comfort, and peace as they mourn a young woman whose life ended far too soon.
Rest in peace, Nacole Bartolet. Gone far too soon, but never forgotten. Your memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved you.
