JAMESTOWN, N.D. — Joshua White, 45, of Jamestown, tragically lost his life Thursday evening, Aug. 13, following a serious crash on Interstate 94 that involved his SUV and a semi-truck, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol. The crash also involved Melissa Martinez, 40, of Grand Forks, who was driving the semi and was not injured.

The heartbreaking collision happened at approximately 6:56 p.m. near mile marker 250 on I-94, about six miles west of Jamestown.

According to authorities, White was driving a 2003 Ford Expedition eastbound when his SUV left the roadway and crossed the median. The vehicle then entered the westbound lanes and collided with a 2017 Freightliner pulling a dump trailer, driven by Martinez.

Following the impact, White’s Expedition came to rest in the median and became engulfed in flames.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene and worked to assist those involved in the devastating collision. White was transported by ambulance to Jamestown Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

Despite medical efforts, White sadly succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Authorities said White was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Martinez, meanwhile, was wearing her seatbelt and was not injured in the collision.

For White’s family, friends, and everyone who knew him, his death represents a heartbreaking and unexpected loss. At 45 years old, he leaves behind memories that will now be treasured by those who loved and cared about him.

A sudden loss can leave families facing grief, unanswered questions, and a difficult road ahead. The moments shared with Joshua — conversations, laughter, family gatherings, friendships, and everyday memories — will become even more meaningful as his loved ones remember the man he was.

The crash remains under investigation as authorities continue working to determine the circumstances that caused White’s SUV to leave the roadway and cross the median.

While investigators focus on understanding what happened, Joshua’s family and friends are left to mourn a life that ended far too soon.

May those who knew Joshua find comfort in the memories they shared with him and strength in the days ahead. May his life be remembered for the moments that brought happiness to others, rather than solely for the tragic circumstances surrounding his passing.

Rest peacefully, Joshua White.

May you never be forgotten, and may your memory continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved you.

Gone too soon, but forever remembered.
