BEAUMONT, TX — In loving memory of Kenlyn Faulk, 43, who tragically lost his life after being shot multiple times at a residence in Beaumont on Saturday night, August 15, 2026. His death has left loved ones grieving as authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting and have arrested a suspect in connection with the homicide.
According to the Beaumont Police Department, officers responded at approximately 9:04 p.m. to a residence in the 3900 block of Broadmoor following a report of a shooting.
When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Faulk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel responded, and Faulk was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Despite efforts to save his life, he was later pronounced deceased.
The sudden loss of a 43-year-old man has brought heartbreak to those who knew and loved him. What began as a disturbance earlier in the evening ultimately ended with Faulk losing his life, leaving family, friends and others close to him struggling to understand how the situation turned deadly.
As detectives began piecing together what happened, investigators learned that Faulk had been involved in an earlier disturbance at another location. Police said the earlier incident involved Faulk, an ex-girlfriend and another male.
A short time after that disturbance, the fatal shooting occurred at the Broadmoor residence.
Investigators quickly began examining the possible connection between the two incidents. Patrol officers and crime analysts worked together to identify information that could lead them to the person believed to be responsible for the shooting.
Police said their investigation moved quickly, with officers utilizing the department’s Real-Time Crime Center (RTCC) technology to assist in locating a suspect vehicle. Within approximately 30 minutes of the shooting, authorities were able to locate the vehicle believed to be connected to the investigation.
The investigation then continued across multiple locations throughout Beaumont as detectives and officers worked to identify and locate the person responsible.
Their efforts ultimately resulted in the arrest of 25-year-old Donta Lawrence, who was taken into custody and charged with Murder in connection with Faulk’s death.
Police also reported that 30-year-old Jkalia White was taken into custody on unrelated charges. Authorities have not indicated that White was arrested for the murder of Faulk.
While an arrest has been made, Beaumont Police said the homicide investigation remains ongoing. Detectives are continuing to gather evidence and work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the shooting and the events that preceded it.
For Faulk’s family and friends, however, the investigation cannot erase the pain of losing someone they loved. His death represents the loss of a life, a relationship and memories that can never be replaced.
Kenlyn Faulk was more than a name in a police report. He was a person who was loved, remembered and connected to people whose lives he touched. Those closest to him are now left to mourn his absence and hold onto the memories they shared with him.
