KNOX COUNTY, Ky. — A community is mourning the tragic loss of William Hundley, who was killed Friday night in a vehicle crash on Little Indian Creek Road in Knox County.
According to Kentucky State Police, the fatal crash occurred on August 14, 2026, at approximately 8:41 p.m., when Knox County 911 contacted Kentucky State Police Post 10 Dispatch to request assistance with a possible fatal collision.
Troopers and emergency responders were immediately dispatched to the area.
Trooper Ben Meadows, Trooper Brian Nantz and Sergeant Bobby Roberts responded to the scene, along with members of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and Knox County Rescue Squad.
When Trooper Meadows arrived, he discovered a red Dodge pickup truck overturned in a creek.
The scene quickly became a rescue and recovery operation as members of the Knox County Rescue Squad entered the water to reach the vehicle.
Inside the overturned truck, rescuers discovered one occupant.
Tragically, the occupant was deceased.
The victim was identified as William Hundley.
Knox County Coroner Mike Blevins responded to the crash scene and officially pronounced Hundley deceased at approximately 9:44 p.m.
