ST. CROIX, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — A heartbreaking loss has left a family, a community, and everyone who knew and loved them mourning the tragic deaths of two brothers, 30-year-old Yordani Eduardo and 25-year-old Delli Eduardo, who were killed in a shooting near La Terraza Bar and Restaurant in Castle Coakley early Sunday morning.
Two brothers who shared a family, a bond, and countless memories were suddenly taken from this world in an act of violence that has left those closest to them struggling to understand how two lives could be gone so quickly.
According to the Virgin Islands Police Department, multiple emergency calls were received at approximately 4:13 a.m., reporting that two people had been shot in the vicinity of the restaurant.
Police officers and Emergency Medical Services personnel rushed to the area. When they arrived, they discovered one of the brothers lying on the ground, unresponsive, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body. Despite the efforts at the scene, he was pronounced dead.
The second brother was transported by private vehicle to Juan Luis Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Their next of kin subsequently identified the two victims as Yordani Eduardo and Delli Eduardo.
The news of their deaths is more than a report of another violent incident. It is the loss of two sons, two brothers, family members, friends, and individuals whose lives carried meaning to the people around them.
For their loved ones, there will now be an emptiness that words cannot easily describe. There will be familiar places that feel different, conversations that will never happen again, and memories that will become even more precious with time.
Losing one loved one is devastating. Losing two brothers in the same tragic incident is an unimaginable heartbreak.
Family members and friends are now left holding onto the memories of Yordani and Delli — the moments they shared, the laughter they brought into the lives of others, and the times that can never be recreated. Their lives were cut far too short, leaving behind questions, grief, and a pain that will take time to heal.
As the investigation continues, authorities are working to determine exactly what led to the shooting and who may be responsible. The Criminal Investigation Bureau is investigating the incident as a double homicide.
The tragedy has also added to the growing number of lives lost to homicide in the U.S. Virgin Islands. With the deaths of Yordani and Delli, St. Croix has recorded 17 homicides in 2026, while St. Thomas has recorded 13, bringing the territorywide total to 30 homicides this year, according to the information provided by authorities.
Behind every number, however, is a person and a family left behind.
Yordani and Delli are not simply part of a homicide statistic. They were brothers whose lives mattered. They were loved, remembered, and connected to people who will carry their memories long after this tragedy.
Their deaths serve as another painful reminder of how quickly violence can change the lives of families forever.
As their loved ones grieve, may they find strength in the memories they shared with Yordani and Delli. May the love of family and friends provide comfort during the difficult days ahead. And may the memories of the two brothers remain alive in the hearts of everyone who knew them.
There are no perfect words for a loss like this. Some pain cannot be explained, and some goodbyes come far too soon.
May Yordani Eduardo, 30, and Delli Eduardo, 25, be remembered not only for the tragic circumstances surrounding their deaths, but for the lives they lived, the people they loved, and the memories they leave behind.
May they rest in peace. 🕊️
Gone from this world, but never forgotten. Their lives mattered, their memories will remain, and their loved ones will carry them in their hearts forever.
Our deepest condolences go out to the Eduardo family, their friends, and everyone mourning this heartbreaking loss. May they find comfort, strength, and peace in the days ahead.
