BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS — The victim, identified by family as Wesley Humphrey, died after suffering multiple stab wounds early Monday morning in Boston’s Mattapan neighborhood. Humphrey was transported to a local hospital following the attack but was later pronounced deceased. The Boston Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
At approximately 3:20 a.m. on Monday, August 17, 2026, officers from District 3 in Mattapan responded to a radio call reporting a person stabbed in the area of Wilbert Road and Harvard Street.
Upon arrival, officers located Humphrey suffering from multiple stab wounds. Emergency personnel transported him to a local hospital, where medical staff attempted to save his life. He was later pronounced deceased.
The Boston Police Department’s Homicide Unit is actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident. Detectives are working to determine what happened before the stabbing and identify the person or people responsible.
