For those who knew and loved Samuel, the news of his death is undoubtedly difficult to comprehend. What began as an ordinary Saturday afternoon ended in a devastating tragedy, leaving a family and community facing the painful reality of losing someone they cared about.

Samuel Owens was only 52 years old. His death serves as another heartbreaking reminder of how quickly life can change and how fragile every moment can be. A motorcycle ride that day ended with a family receiving news no loved one ever wants to hear.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office has identified Owens as the victim while continuing to work alongside the South Carolina Highway Patrol to determine exactly what led to the collision. An external examination is scheduled for August 17, and officials said Owens’ official cause and manner of death remain pending as the investigation continues.

At this time, authorities have not released further information about the other vehicle involved or the circumstances that may have contributed to the crash. Investigators are expected to examine the scene, available evidence and other information as they work to establish a complete account of what happened.

While the investigation continues, the focus for Owens’ loved ones is on remembering the man behind the heartbreaking headlines.
