ODESSA, TEXAS — With profound sadness, family, friends, and loved ones are mourning the tragic loss of Alex Ramses, 19, and Agustin Montoya-Garia, 52, who both lost their lives in a devastating head-on collision on IH-20 on Thursday morning, August 6.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred at approximately 5:15 a.m. in Odessa.
Preliminary information indicates that Alex Ramses was driving a 2020 Volkswagen GTI and was attempting to enter the IH-20 on-ramp. At the same time, Agustin Montoya-Garia was driving a 2023 Nissan Altima eastbound on the North Service Road of IH-20.
Authorities said Montoya-Garia failed to yield the right-of-way, resulting in a violent head-on collision between the two vehicles.
The crash claimed the lives of both drivers. Alex Ramses and Agustin Montoya-Garia were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Alex was only 19 years old, with so much of life still ahead of him.
