WILMINGTON, Del. — It is with profound sadness that we remember 24-year-old Shakur Wilmer, whose life came to a heartbreaking end following a serious two-vehicle crash in Wilmington on Sunday night.
Shakur was one of two people injured in the collision, which occurred at approximately 9:17 p.m. on August 9 at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and North Adams Street.
According to Wilmington Police, the crash involved two vehicles. A 24-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment. Shakur was reportedly in critical condition following the crash. Despite efforts to save his life, he later succumbed to his injuries.
His passing has left family members, friends and loved ones facing the devastating reality of losing someone at just 24 years old.
At an age when so much of life should still be unfolding, Shakur’s journey was tragically cut short. There should have been more birthdays, more celebrations, more opportunities, more laughter, more memories and countless moments still waiting to be experienced.
